Future Energy Ventures (FEV), a Berlin-based investment fund, has launched with €110m ($123.5m) of committed capital. Its backers include energy utility E.ON and the European Investment Fund. The fund will focus on start-ups and scale-ups that are developing digital solutions to drive the transition to a low-carbon energy system. It is expected to eventually raise €250m. FEV will invest between €1m and €10m per company, with a view to making 30 investments in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Its areas of focus include future energy, future cities and future technologies.
