100 million euros raised as space tech startup D-Orbit soars

TLDR: Italian space logistics and transportation specialist, D-Orbit, has raised €100m in a Series C funding round. The funding is said to be one of the largest ever for a European Space Tech company and will go towards further development of D-Orbit’s ION Satellite Carrier. The funding round was led by Japanese company Marubeni Corporation, and also involved Avantgarde and existing investors CDP Venture Capital, Seraphim Space Investment Trust, United Ventures, Indaco Venture Partners, Neva SGR Spa, and Primo Ventures.

D-Orbit is headquartered in Italy and has a UK office. The company’s ION Satellite Carrier is a platform that allows the observation of debris in space and enables multiple satellites to be transported and deployed more efficiently. This funding will allow D-Orbit to continue developing this technology and expand its services.
