Most of the funding comes from Quaestor Wealth Care, enabling investments from wealthy individuals. Imec.xpand has a track record of supporting innovative companies, with previous investments in semiconductors and nanotechnologies.

The fund’s earlier investments include two unicorns, PsiQuantum and Celestial AI, with ties to Leuven research institute in Belgium. Imec.xpand has expanded its investments to include Dutch companies such as Axelera AI, Scil, and Onera, with a new branch in the Netherlands.
