The California-based firm, associated with Bellco Capital, aims to deliver credit solutions to companies in the biotech, medtech, synthetic biology, and other healthcare sectors. Led by Arie Belldegrun, M.D., Symbiotic Capital’s co-chair, the firm aims to support the increasing capital needs of healthcare companies by offering credit without the equity demands that traditional financing institutions require.

According to Belldegrun, the life science industry is experiencing unprecedented productivity, innovation, and scientific discovery, making credit an essential financing tool for established healthcare enterprises. Symbiotic Capital’s credit financings are designed to help companies fund ongoing research and development, capital expenses, and commercialization activities. Former Roche CEO Franz Humer, Ph.D., and former Cleveland Clinic CEO Toby Cosgrove, M.D., have joined the firm’s science team to support its mission.
