Unresolved Investors’ Grievances: Venture Capital Funds Take the Lead

TLDR:

  • Most unresolved investors’ complaints belong to venture capital funds based on Sebi data.
  • Complaints are redressed through SCOREs, with an average resolution time of 36 days.

Most unresolved investors’ complaints are related to venture capital funds, as per data released by Sebi in February. The month started with 5,371 pending complaints, with 4,471 complaints received and disposed of during the month. The average resolution time for complaints is 36 days, and as of now, only seven complaints are pending for over 3 months, with six of them pertaining to venture capital funds. The Sebi Complaints Redress System (SCORES) platform is crucial in helping investors lodge complaints against listed companies and Sebi-registered intermediaries. Investors have a three-year window from the occurrence of an issue to file a complaint on SCORES. Overall, the data reveals the importance of addressing complaints in a timely manner to uphold investor trust and confidence.
