Ukrainian Haiqu: A Top Quantum Startup Recognized by Investors

Venture capital investors have acknowledged Ukrainian startup Haiqu as one of the most exciting quantum startups, according to a rating published by Sifted after interviews with investors. European quantum startups received $781M in investments in 2023, making Europe the only region where funding for quantum startups increased. Haiqu attracted $4M in investment in the summer of 2023 during a pre-seed round from American fund SOMA Capital, Ukrainian u.ventures, and others.

Founded in early 2023 by Mykola Maksymenko and Richard Givan, Haiqu is developing software technologies to maximize the potential of quantum computer hardware. The ranking of the most promising quantum startups also includes entries from Spain, Great Britain, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Finland.

Haiqu’s co-founders bring valuable experience to the table, with Maksymenko being a former vice president of R&D at Ukrainian IT company SoftServe, and Givan having previously worked at Mitsubishi Electric. Their focus on developing innovative software technologies for quantum computers has captured the attention of investors and positioned Haiqu as a key player in the quantum computing space.
