  • The fund focuses on life science and green technology investments with Nordea and Saminvest as main investors.
  • The Swedish impact investor Trill Impact recently closed its inaugural Ventures Fund after receiving commitments of more than EUR 90m. The fund primarily focuses on investments in life science and green technology, with a special emphasis on underserved patient groups and innovative green tech solutions. The fund is backed by a range of institutional investors, with Nordea and the Swedish government’s venture capital firm Saminvest as the main investors.

Trill Impact, established by EQT founder Jan Ståhlberg in 2019, has EUR 1.3bn in assets under management across its three strategies: Impact Private Equity, Impact Ventures, and Microfinance. Despite the challenging market environment, the fund was closed due to the higher interest rate environment. According to the firm’s Partner & Head of Investor Relations Johanna Levander, the fundraising environment for Venture Capital has been difficult, but they are proud to have completed the fundraise.

Commenting on the closing, Jan Ståhlberg expressed excitement about investors joining forces with Trill Impact to address societal and environmental challenges. He believes the Venture Capital space is particularly interesting for investments in today’s macro environment. The fund’s focus on impactful investments in life science and green technology will contribute to addressing important global issues.
