Space Investment Fund: British Advisors Citicourt & Co Lead the Way

TLDR:

– Citicourt & Co plans to raise 100 million pounds for a space venture capital fund

– The company aims to bridge the gap between private and public funding in the space industry

British financial advisor Citicourt & Co is setting its sights on the space industry, with plans to raise 100 million pounds ($129 million) for its first venture capital fund. The company, founded by Jodi Bartin in 1991, has already advised companies like B2 Space and SaxaVord, and now aims to support the next generation of space companies ready for institutional funding rounds.

One focus of Citicourt’s fund will be launch startups, as there is growing interest in this sector among investors. The recent SpaceX failure highlighted the vulnerability of the industry and the need for a diverse range of launch providers. Citicourt plans to invest in ventures that have a clear path to positively impact Earth, such as sustainable food production and carbon mitigation.

Despite the growth in the space industry, early-stage companies in Europe still struggle to find growth-stage funding. Citicourt’s fund aims to fill this gap and support the development of sustainable space initiatives. The company is set to close its VC fund this year and make 10-12 investments in space-related ventures.
