Despite navigating a difficult fundraising environment, European female founders and fund managers are securing record investments and demonstrating resilience, according to a report released by Female Foundry. In 2023, European startups with female co-founders raised €5.9bn in funding, marking the third highest annual tally ever. Female entrepreneurs also raised larger funding rounds, with the average Series C round size for female-founded companies jumping 45% to €80m. The report also highlighted the rise in female fund managers in Europe, with a 76% increase in funds raised by female general partners compared to the previous year.
