Puneet Kumar Joins Nexus Venture Partners: Y Combinator Alum

After spending a year as a visiting group partner at Y Combinator, Puneet Kumar has transitioned to become a venture partner at Nexus Venture Partners. During his time at Y Combinator, Kumar was involved in startup schools and demo days where startups pitched for a place in the VC fund’s cohorts. Prior to his role at Y Combinator, Kumar founded SuprDaily, a grocery startup that achieved an annual revenue run rate of $100 million and was later acquired by Swiggy.

Nexus Venture Partners, founded in 2006, invests in tech-enabled startups in the US and India and has managed to secure investments from global pension funds, family offices, and endowment funds. The VC firm has a portfolio that includes startups like Unacademy, Hasura, Postman, Turtlemint, Apollo.io, Zepto, and M2P. Kumar’s move to Nexus Venture Partners coincides with the departure of the firm’s managing director, Sameer Brij Verma. The industry is witnessing a wave of changes at the top level with managing partners like Tej Kapoor from IvyCap Ventures, Aviral Bhatnagar from Venture Highway, and Piyush Gupta from Peak XV Partners branching out to start their own ventures.
