New shareholders include Telefónica’s corporate venture capital arm Wayra, as well as Akamai and previous investors such as Cellnex and Lenovo who have executed follow-on investments.
The funding will fuel Nearby Computing’s expansion into key markets, allowing it to boost its sales force and further establish its leadership in strategic, global regions including North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. The company’s CEO, Josep Marti, stated that their objective is to enable more enterprises and service providers with advanced edge computing and software automation solutions, providing them with access to a complete solution for their entire network ecosystem.
