The NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) has announced its investment in Join Capital, a Berlin-based early-stage venture capital fund specializing in deep tech investments across industrial and enterprise tech. This backing aims to expand capacity in regions with high funding demand, such as Southern and Eastern Europe, and grow deep tech startup ecosystems like the Nordics. The fund is focused on supporting a wide range of deep tech solutions, including space tech, quantum cryptography, and AI.

Additionally, the NATO Innovation Fund will support other venture capital fund managers investing in early-stage deep tech with a focus on civilian, defence, security, and resilience markets. Some of the supported venture capital fund managers include Alpine Space Ventures, OTB Ventures, and Vsquared Ventures.

Backed by 24 NATO Allies, the NATO Innovation Fund finances innovators in emerging technology sectors such as energy, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and more. The fund provides support to deep tech entrepreneurs for up to 15 years, helping them commercialize and implement their solutions at scale. The Managing Partner of NATO Innovation Fund, Andrea Traversone, expressed excitement about supporting Join Capital and driving innovation in various technology sectors.

The investment by NIF in Join Capital signifies a strategic move to support deep tech startups and foster innovation in regions with high funding demand.
