Former LinkedIn India Head, Ashutosh Gupta, has recently joined Avataar Venture Partners as an operating partner and head of GTM CoE. Gupta spent a decade at LinkedIn, where he served as the country manager for India for half of that time. During his tenure, LinkedIn in India achieved significant milestones including surpassing 100 million users and launching a Hindi language version. Before joining LinkedIn in 2013, Gupta held roles at Google as the head of industry and technology services. With nearly three decades of experience, he has also worked at companies such as ICICI Securities, Infosys, and Cognizant.

Avataar Venture Partners, founded in 2019 by Nishant Rao, focuses on investing in Indian startups with an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of over USD 15 million. Some of the companies backed by the VC firm include RateGain, Amagi, and InsuranceDekho. Their most recent investment was a USD 45 million Series D round for SaaS startup Capillary in 2023.
