They will manage Martlet Capital’s £23.3 million portfolio of investments across 53 companies in the deep tech and life sciences sectors. Additionally, EMV Capital has acquired the operational VC business of Martlet Capital, excluding its investment portfolio. EMV Capital and its parent company, NetScientific PLC, initially invested in Martlet Capital in 2021.
Martlet Capital has seen significant exits in the last decade, including Unicorn Abcam, Audio Analytic, Cambridge CMOS Sensors, and Arachnys. Their current portfolio includes companies like Paragraf, Nu Quantum, and Xampla. With this acquisition, EMV Capital is managing £26.1 million of capital under advisory and plans to explore launching two new Martlet funds by leveraging the Martlet brand.
