TLDR:

– Wellbeing of Women and Maroon Venture Fund have partnered to launch AstraWell, a venture studio focused on women’s health

– The initiative aims to accelerate innovation, deploy capital, and strengthen R&D in women’s health in the UK, US, and globally

Wellbeing of Women and Maroon Venture Fund have joined forces to create AstraWell, a venture studio dedicated to advancing innovation in women’s health. The partnership will focus on funding ventures addressing pressing issues such as heavy menstrual bleeding, premature birth, and gynecological cancers. The AstraWell Venture Studio, the first initiative under this collaboration, will support early-stage ventures addressing chronic health and climate conditions impacting women’s health. It will offer expertise in financial structuring, AI, data analytics, go-to-market strategy, and investor readiness. Eligible ventures must be pre-seed or seed-stage, based in the UK or US, and focused on patient-centric innovation in areas like reproductive health, chronic conditions, diversification of clinical trials, healthy aging, and climate impact on women’s health. The Venture Studio aims to scale ventures into the US/UK markets and provide access to investment capital targeting above-market returns. Operating primarily as a virtual platform, the initiative also offers optional on-site engagements in New York, Boston, Houston, Glasgow, and London. This partnership hopes to significantly advance research and innovation in women’s health and address critical health issues beyond reproductive and sexual health, including chronic conditions like diabetes, autoimmune diseases, and neurological disorders.
