Diraq Secures $22M Series A with Top Deeptech Investors

Diraq, a global leader in quantum computing based on silicon quantum dots, announced an expansion of its investment round, bringing the total raise to $22 million (US). The company attracted further investment from a number of prominent strategic investors, including deep tech venture fund Main Sequence, leading global real asset technology investor Taronga Ventures, Uniseed, and UniSuper, Co:Act Capital, and additional participation from foundation shareholder and research partner UNSW, Sydney. The Series A2 round was led by global quantum technology specialist fund Quantonation.

Diraq recently achieved a record control accuracy of 99.9% for a quantum bit (qubit) manufactured by imecon industry-standard CMOS materials on a 300mm silicon wafer. This milestone solidifies the viability of Diraq’s technology to be manufactured at scale in a commercial environment. The company also published breakthrough research in the journal Nature demonstrating high-accuracy spin-based quantum computation at warmer temperatures, overcoming a critical hurdle toward delivering silicon-based quantum processors with millions of qubits.

Various investors, including Main Sequence, Taronga Ventures, Uniseed, and Co:Act Capital, have expressed confidence in Diraq’s potential to bring scalable, spin-based quantum computers into the real world and transform industries such as real assets, energy modeling, climate, and health. Diraq’s technological advancements have positioned Australia as a global leader in quantum computing, and the company’s commitment to commercializing university-developed IP with local talent has garnered support from investors in the deep-tech sector.
