Boomerang Ventures has led a $1.7m series seed round for Xploro, a UK start-up that uses augmented reality, gaming and artificial intelligence to offer comprehensive health information for children and families. Xploro’s platform provides age-appropriate, clinically-validated patient education to reduce stress and improve health literacy. The investment will support Xploro’s expansion plans, including targeting the $12.53bn global paediatric healthcare market and entering the adult healthcare sector by 2025. The company is initially focused on patients aged between seven and 15 and aims to expand into new treatment areas and involve third-party content creators. It also plans to broaden health condition coverage and enhance sales and customer success functions. Xploro collaborates with organisations such as World Child Cancer and partners with the Cincinnati and Cleveland children’s hospitals.
