Blackbird’s $194M Series A: Turbocharging Vector Search with Ex-Amazon Duo

A vector search startup called Marqo, founded by former Amazon robotics scientist Jesse Clark and ex-AWS software engineer Tom Hamer, has raised $19.4 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Lightspeed, with participation from Blackbird, January Capital, and Chronosphere founder and CTO Rob Skillington. Marqo’s platform uses machine learning capabilities to enable AI-powered search for ecommerce customers and other business applications. The funding will be used to expand Marqo’s customer base and relocate its headquarters to San Francisco.
