Balti-Capital: Gains Galore as Diverse PE Firm Wraps Record Fund


  • Tufts University reports that Rockville-based private equity firm FVLCRUM Partners closed its debut fund with over $302 million in commitments. The firm, founded by Ben Carson Jr., exceeded its initial target of $250 million.
  • Conscious Venture Partners, led by Jeff Cherry, raised $160 million in capital for parent company Capital Funding Bancorp, which provides financial solutions to the healthcare and other sectors.
  • Impact Analytics, a Linthicum-based provider of retail and supply chain planning software, secured $40 million in growth financing to expand its sales and marketing teams.
  • TEDCO, Columbia’s innovation hub, made several investments from its State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), including $300,000 in Ellicott City-based Rendr and $200,000 into PediaMetrix, a biotech company focused on detecting body deformities in infants.

Additional funding rounds were raised by various Baltimore-based companies, including Novel Microdevices, Cerebro Capital, Turngate Inc., Dapt, NextStep Robotics, Sensanna, and Dockshare. Cybersecurity firm ZeroFox also secured two federal contracts worth up to $289 million to provide digital identity protection services.
