TLDR:
- Aston Martin F1 team valued at over UK£1.5 billion in latest private equity investment
- Incoming capital from Accel and HPS Investment Partners almost doubles previous valuation after Arctos acquired a minority stake last year
An investment from HPS Investment Partners and Accel is set to value the Aston Martin Formula One team at more than UK£1.5 billion. The US-based firm manages roughly US$115 billion in assets, and the venture capital firm in Silicon Valley is reportedly set to acquire between 20-25% of the holding company. The team’s latest financial results showed a loss in 2022, but owner Lawrence Stroll has been seeking external investment to position the outfit as a regular challenger for race wins and championships. The team also announced a technical collaboration with Aramco, Honda, and Valvoline Global Operations, and legendary designer Adrian Newey was unveiled as the managing technical partner.
