Aroa VP Partners with Sidbi: Exclusive Venture Capital Collaboration

TLDR:

  • Aroa Venture Partners secured Rs 40 crore from Sidbi as a limited partner and aims to raise Rs 400 crore by March next year.
  • The firm plans to invest Rs 4 to Rs 40 crore across 20-25 startups from seed to Series C rounds.

Aroa Venture Partners, founded in 2020, has onboarded Sidbi as a limited partner in its fund, receiving a total commitment of Rs 40 crore. The firm, with a target corpus of Rs 400 crore, also brought on Sekhar Puli as a general and managing partner. Their investment strategy includes supporting 20-25 startups with funding ranging from seed to Series C rounds. With the new fund deployment plan, the firm is poised to drive transformative growth in India’s startup ecosystem.

The fund utilizes a feeder vehicle in Singapore to pool investment capital for the master fund. Previously, the firm was a solo general partner fund with Ritesh Agarwal (Oyo founder and CEO) as its only limited partner. The firm is looking to close its fundraise by the end of next March and has already deployed over Rs 100 crore across 40 early- and growth-stage startups. With the addition of Sekhar Puli and the continued support of Sidbi, Aroa Venture Partners is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the Indian startup landscape.
