French space situational awareness (SSA) startup Aldoria has raised $10.9 million in a Series A funding round. The company, formerly known as Share My Space, currently operates a network of six optical telescopes to track objects in orbit. The funding will be used to expand the network to 12 telescopes by 2025 and enhance the systems for processing the data collected. Aldoria plans to invest in research and development for SSA and develop partnerships with organizations like the French aerospace research center ONERA. The company’s strongest demand comes from governments, including the European Union Space Surveillance and Tracking network. Aldoria also has several private customers, including Airbus, Thales Alenia Space, and Astroscale. The funding round was supported by growing interest in space sustainability in Europe, with the lead investor following sustainable investment regulations. Alongside the funding round, Aldoria also changed its name to better reflect its mission of protecting assets in space and orbital resources.
