A new report from CBInsights has highlighted the state of AI funding over the past year. While the overall venture funding market saw a decline of 42% in 2023, AI funding fell by only 10% year-over-year. The US led in AI deal share worldwide, with almost half of all AI deals taking place in the country. Generative AI attracted 48% of all AI funding in 2023, a significant increase from the previous year. M&A exits in the AI sector rebounded in 2023, reaching 311, and 22 new unicorns were minted. Google was the most active investor in AI in Q4’23.
