The funding, which includes seed investments, grants, and awards, was led by the Circular Innovation Fund. Other investors include Future Communities Capital, PDS Ventures, Katapult, and SNØCAP VC.

The partnership between Earth VC and Sparxell aims to bridge the market for sustainable pigments in emerging Asia, focusing on the textile and cosmetic industries. Sparxell plans to expand manufacturing capacity, secure partnerships with brands, and launch a Series A funding round to scale production and accelerate commercialization.

Sparxell was founded in 2022 by Dr. Benjamin Droguet and Professor Silvia Vignolini, who discovered ways to replicate vibrant colors in nature using plant-based cellulose. Their pigments are toxin-free, fully biodegradable, and offer a sustainable alternative to traditional synthetic pigments. The firm’s technology presents transformative opportunities for various industries including beauty, fashion, packaging, and paint.
