Meet ValuAble’s New General Partner: PE Veteran Ajay Mittal

ValuAble, India’s first purpose-led venture debt fund, has appointed Ajay Mittal as General Partner (GP) and Investment Manager (IM) to expand the fund. Mittal, with over three decades of experience in fund management, venture capital, and investment strategy, brings a wealth of expertise to ValuAble.

Starting his finance career with Unit Trust of India in 1993, Mittal quickly rose to manage the country’s first offshore tracker fund. He co-founded Ascent Capital in 2009, establishing it as a significant player in private equity with investments in various sectors. In 2023, Mittal became a shareholder and Director at Laqshya Media, showcasing his ability to navigate diverse industries as an investment leader.

Expressing enthusiasm about joining ValuAble, Mittal stated his commitment to the fund’s mission of supporting innovative founders working to solve critical issues. Rahul, Co-Founder of ValuAble, praised Mittal’s grounding, passion, and strategic vision, highlighting the value he brings to the fund. ValuAble is on track to close its first fund targeting Rs 200-250 crore and is in discussions with over 50 startups for potential investments.
