Former Lego Ventures veteran launches new investment venture

Isa Fuhrmann-Breitholtz, a former executive at Lego Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Lego Group, has founded an alternative investment firm called South Bay. Based in Sweden, South Bay will concentrate on real estate technology developers in the Nordic region. Fuhrmann-Breitholtz, serving as a managing partner, aims to make investments that bring about significant change and have a tangible impact. With a background of nearly eight years at Lego Group, Fuhrmann-Breitholtz held various executive roles, including head of strategy and new ventures at Lego Brand Group. After the establishment of Lego Ventures in 2018, Fuhrmann-Breitholtz led the Silicon Valley Hub for the unit until 2020.

Parin Shah took over as head of Lego Ventures in October 2022, following which the unit announced a deeper integration with Lego Group’s parent firm, Kirk Kristiansen’s family office, Kirkbi. Lego Ventures now focuses on investing in gaming, edtech, and climate technology developers. The launch of South Bay by Fuhrmann-Breitholtz signifies a new chapter in his career, shifting his focus towards real estate startups in the Nordic region.
