Princeton, N.J.-based growth equity investment and venture capital firm Edison Partners is looking to raise $650 million in private-equity funding. The firm operates a local office in Wedgewood-Houston and manages $1.7 billion in assets. Edison Managing Partner Christopher Sugden is overseeing the effort, with Fund XI aimed at becoming the largest fund in the company’s 38-year history. The firm focuses on high-growth vertical SaaS, financial technology, and healthcare IT companies outside of Silicon Valley with $10 to $30 million in revenue. Their portfolio includes investments in companies like MoneyLion, Take Command Health, and Zelis, creating an aggregated market value exceeding $10 billion. Edison’s active portfolio has investments in growth-stage technology companies in emerging tech hubs outside of Silicon Valley. More than 70 percent of their portfolio companies operate in markets beyond Silicon Valley and New York City, showcasing their commitment to investing in emerging tech markets across the country.

On a different note, Cumberland University has added Pulitzer Prize winner David Vise to its Board of Trust. Vise, a Nashville native, is involved in various philanthropic efforts and educational initiatives. The Vise family has a long history with Cumberland University, with David’s father Harry Vise being a significant benefactor to the institution. Vise’s election to the university board is seen as a continuation of the family’s legacy of support for the university.

In addition, the area’s first Mitsubishi dealership has opened in Goodlettsville, operated by Music City Mitsubishi. The dealership offers new Mitsubishi sales, pre-owned vehicles, parts, and service, aiming to serve the Nashville community with excellence and customer satisfaction. This dealership marks a significant milestone for the Japanese auto brand in the Middle Tennessee region.
