Revolutionary C15 Studio Launches Lightning-Fast Sports Channels With VC Support

TLDR:

  • C15 Studio launched with backing from venture capital funds and initial channel partners including Formula One, ONE Championship, Triton Poker Series, and the Professional Squash Association.
  • C15 Studio aims to attract FAST channel consumers through the sports landscape and provide free ad-funded streaming television.

C15 Studio, a FAST channel operator, recently launched with support from venture capital funds that have ties to the sports industry. The studio’s initial channel partners include well-known entities such as Formula One, ONE Championship, Triton Poker Series, and the Professional Squash Association. The studio has secured distribution partners like Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Freevee, and Pluto TV.

The co-founders of C15 Studio, Joe Nilsson and Amory Schwartz, bring valuable experience to the venture, with Nilsson previously leading international streaming for Jukin Media and Schwartz having founded the North American Sports Network (NASN). They hope to tap into the growing market of FAST channel consumers through their sports-focused content.

While C15 Studio has live broadcasting rights with the majority of its channel partners, Formula One content will be available five days after the live races air, due to an existing broadcast deal with ESPN through 2025. The Formula One channel will offer a variety of post-produced shows, features, and documentaries to engage viewers.

The studio’s CEO, Joe Nilsson, views sports as a powerful tool for audience acquisition in the FAST space and aims to draw in both casual viewers and binge-watchers who can access and enjoy the free content available on the channels. C15 Studio’s entry into the FAST sports streaming market adds to the growing competition, with established players like Roku also making significant investments in sports content.
