Capria Ventures, a Global South specialist venture capital firm, has announced the appointment of Mobola da-Silva as a Partner. Mobola, who joined as a Venture Partner in February 2023, will play a key role in driving Capria’s investment strategy in Africa and contributing to the firm’s growth across the Global South. Before joining Capria, Mobola was a partner at the uMunthu Fund and had experience in investing in technology-enabled businesses in Africa. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Houston, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MSc in Leadership and Strategy from the London Business School. Capria’s Africa portfolio includes startups such as Moniepoint, Paymob, and Helium Health, among others. Capria invests in early and early-growth stage startups in various sectors including Fintech, Jobtech, and Edtech. Mobola expressed her excitement about the new role and her dedication to supporting talented entrepreneurs in Africa. This appointment marks a milestone for Mobola as one of the few female partners in venture capital in Africa.
