The Silicon Valley venture capital firm, Tribe Capital, announced the appointment of Vishesh Khurana as the head of their $250 million India-specific AIF. Khurana, who co-founded logistics technology unicorn Shiprocket, is expected to lead the fund alongside Raj Snehil Juneja, a venture capital investor and founder of investment firms such as Disruptors Capital and First Unicorn Capital.
The move comes as Shiprocket is in advanced talks to raise $70-100 million, with a majority of the capital expected to come from Tribe Capital. The funding round aims to provide exits for early investors, with around 70% of the funding having a secondary component.
Tribe Capital’s co-founder, Arjun Sethi, highlighted the importance of expanding their investment footprint in the region through stronger local presence, local partners, and capital resources.
