Earlybird Health, a division of VC firm Earlybird Venture Capital, has completed the final close of its £148m fund. The fund is aimed at European startups in the healthcare sector, with a focus on digital health, diagnostics, medical devices, research and development tools, and biopharma. Earlybird Venture Capital, based in Germany with a presence in London, has previously supported several British startups, including Sikoia, Sense, and Snyk. The latest close included a £17.6m commitment from Sheffield-based investor British Patient Capital, which described the UK as a “global centre for healthcare innovation”.
