Astrotalk, a spiritual tech startup, has raised $20 million in a Series A round of funding led by US-based venture capital firm Left Lane Capital. The funds will be used for strategic acquisitions, expanding into international markets, and hiring senior leadership roles. Astrotalk, founded in 2017, connects consumers with astrologers for various services including horoscope readings and live prayers. The platform has served over 4 crore users to date and has more than 15,000 active astrologers. One-on-one consultations generate around 95% of the company’s revenue, with about 20% of revenues coming from outside of India. The company aims to take India’s Vedic sciences globally. Astrotalk plans to expand and localize its operations in South India and develop its devotion offerings. The company’s employee headcount is expected to increase significantly with the new funding, which also includes an ESOP buyback to create wealth for employees. Astrotalk achieved an annual recurring revenue of approximately Rs 800 crore in 2023-24 and experienced over 100% year-on-year revenue growth in the last three years.
