Global solar corporate funding increased by 42% in 2023, according to a report by Mercom Capital. The report tracked venture capital funding, public market, and debt financing in the solar sector, revealing a total of $34.3 billion raised in 160 deals last year. This represents the highest level of corporate funding in the solar industry in a decade. Global venture capital reached $6.9 billion, down 1% from the previous year. The largest venture capital deal was a $471 million funding round for German solar installer 1KOMMA5°. In the United States, project developer Silicon Ranch raised $600 million in equity funding.
