Japanese Fund of Funds (FoF), GREE, plans to allow international limited partners (LPs) to invest in its domestic venture capital (VC) fund. The firm is considering re-opening its first Japanese fund to international investors before launching its second FoF later this year. GREE’s recent partnership with US FoF Pantheon Ventures has given it the confidence and resources to pursue international LPs. The move could provide a significant boost to Japan’s VC ecosystem, which has traditionally struggled with fundraising.
