The event began with Priya Gazdar, Chairperson of FLO, sharing the historical connection between finance titan JP Morgan and Thomas Edison, highlighting how venture capital played a crucial role in shaping the technology sector. Gazdar pointed out that Morgan’s backing of Edison led to the creation of General Electric.

During the session, Shanti Mohan, Founder & CEO of LetsVenture & Trica, discussed the key qualities that venture capitalists look for in founders and startups. Mohan emphasized the importance of behavior and company culture, stating that many VCs prioritize these aspects over business potential. She shared a personal anecdote where a colleague emphasized the impact of company culture on success.
