Paradigm’s special counsel, Rodrigo Seira, has departed the cryptocurrency-focused venture capital firm to rejoin Cooley LLP, as indicated on his LinkedIn profile. Seira, who is a Harvard Law School graduate, was previously outside counsel to crypto investors and entrepreneurs at Cooley before joining Paradigm. He was also a founding member of DLX Law, a blockchain and crypto-focused boutique. At Paradigm, Seira spent 2.5 years and was instrumental in creating the firm’s Policy Lab, which aimed to promote crypto innovation and lawmaking in the U.S. The Policy Lab brought together academics, policy experts, lawyers, and technologists to conduct research on policy issues in the crypto space. Last month, reports indicated that Paradigm was in the process of raising a new fund worth between $750 and $850 million. Paradigm has not yet responded to requests for comment on Seira’s departure.
