The average deal size at the halfway mark is $12.58M, the highest in the past five years. However, male CEOs and founders still have an advantage over female leaders in raising capital, despite a shift in trend seen in 2023 where female leaders raised bigger deals than male leaders. Female leadership in women’s health raised a total of $326.6M, while male leadership raised $754.3M, indicating a 2.3x difference in funding. Despite the disparities, the total amount of venture capital dollars that women’s health has received is trending upwards. The percentage of VC funding invested in women’s health companies compared to general healthcare companies is slightly above average for the half-year mark of 2024.
