The Haile Venture Capital Fund was recently established in Israel, becoming the first investment vehicle for pre-seed startups with disruptive technologies that have at least one founder from Israel’s Ethiopian community. The founder of the fund, Solomon Geveye, hopes to empower fellow Israeli Ethiopians to explore high-tech entrepreneurship, a path that few have taken. Geveye aims to open an entrepreneurship and acceleration program at Reichman University’s Google and Reichman Tech School this summer, with support from the Israel Innovation Authority. The fund currently has 13 early-stage companies in its pipeline seeking pre-seed investment.
