Accusations: US VC Firms Boosting China’s Tech Agenda

A US congressional committee has accused Sequoia Capital China, Qualcomm Ventures, and three other venture capital firms of supporting the Chinese military, according to a report released by the committee. The report alleges that these VC firms have invested in Chinese tech companies that are involved in developing critical technologies for the Chinese military, such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence. The accusation comes as the US government is increasing scrutiny of Chinese tech companies and their connections to the Chinese military, amid concerns over national security.
