According to a report by York IE, U.S. startups received $20.6 billion in angel investments and VC funding in Q4 of 2023. Dallas stood out with a remarkable 195% funding growth rate, securing its spot among the top three fastest-growing startup landscapes.

The report highlighted the top five cities where startup business is booming, with Philadelphia and Los Angeles leading the pack. Dallas’ funding growth rate of 195% in Q4 2023 amounted to over $730 million raised by startups in the metro area. This funding was distributed across 30 funding rounds, showcasing the significant investor interest and startup activity in the region.

Among the top reported fundraising rounds in North Texas in Q4 2023 were Shield AI with a $300 million Series F funding round, DataBank with $188 million raised, and Island with a $100 million Series C financing round. Dallas ranked sixth overall in terms of funding raised in Q4 2023, with cities like San Francisco, New York City, and Boston securing the top spots in total funding.
