Arlington Economic Development (AED) has teamed up with Citrine Angels to introduce the Elevate Your Venture: Arlington Female Founder Series. This initiative, powered by the Arlington Innovation Fund, will consist of four free educational events designed to address the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. Together, AED and Citrine Angels strive to boost female-led entrepreneurship in Arlington and provide grant funding for startups to accelerate their growth. The series is a response to the disparities in access to capital experienced by women founders.
The first event of the series, titled “Is Venture Capital Right For You?” will take place on March 5 at Northeastern University. This event, sponsored by AED and powered by Citrine Angels, will feature discussions on the advantages and drawbacks of pursuing venture capital versus alternative funding methods. The collaboration between AED and Citrine Angels aims to educate and connect like-minded groups in the community and build a supportive network for female entrepreneurs.
Stephanie Marshall, Co-Founder and Board President of Citrine Angels, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with AED, stressing the importance of supporting the growth and success of female-founded businesses. With a shared goal of increasing access to investment opportunities for women, Citrine Angels and AED are committed to providing high-level resources for aspiring female entrepreneurs in Arlington. Through these educational events, both organizations hope to bridge the gap in funding and support for women-led ventures.
